Branching Out Into Books: A Treehouse Library
May 27, 2025
As part of a brand-new school construction, Pinecrest Preparatory School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida wanted their library to be more than just rows of books—they dreamed of a space that would invite imagination, creativity, and a love of reading from the moment kids walked in.
Where Books and Branches Meet
The Arches with a Twist
One of the most eye-catching features? The bookshelves don’t just stop at the arches—they become the arches. Real books are tucked neatly along the tops, clinging to gravity-defying shelves that wrap all the way overhead, creating a playful surprise above.
A Reading Spot Worth Climbing Into
More than just a display piece, this treehouse nook offers kids a place to slow down, settle in, and let a story take them somewhere new. It’s a little corner of the school designed for big adventures—one page at a time.
